Abby Larson on The Everygirl

Truth be told, I've been a fan of Abby Larson and her infamous site Style Me Pretty for much longer than I should probably admit. I found Style Me Pretty long before I was engaged, and have continued to read it and swoon over every single image regardless of the fact that I am now married and therefore done with major wedding planning. It's interesting that I was never the kind of girl that dreamed about her wedding as a kid, but once I met Dan that all went out the window and I spent a ridiculous amount of my free time online by myself and with my girlfriends looking at rings and dresses and flowers and centerpieces. I knew from day one with Dan that I would marry him, and Style Me Pretty was my dream world where I could fantasize about our big day while scrolling through glorious images full of picture perfect weddings.  I imagine that at least to a point, this is exactly what Style Me Pretty is all about - inspiration, dreams, fantasies, love - and that is what makes it so incredibly successful.

Today, Abby is featured over on The Everygirl as part of Wedding Week, and while reading her interview I was immediately inspired and calmed. Her insight is spot-on, her advice is so enlightening, and I am enamored by how real she seems. Even with my wedding months in the past, I find myself drawn to Style Me Pretty every time my mind wanders to my dreams of becoming a wedding planner. It's words like those below from Abby that make that seem like a reality. And even just for that glimmer of hope, I am forever grateful.

Wedding Week on The Everygirl - Part 2

It's Wedding Week!

Friends - It's Wedding Week over on The Everygirl!

Today's bridesmaids feature is part one of two, and I had the absolute honor of attending and assisting on the photoshoot for this amazing spread.

All of the girls on the shoot were a total blast to spend a Sunday with, and I loved chatting with everyone and gathering contact info to stay in touch! I'm hoping to see some of them at tonight's BHLDN event, hosted by The Everygirl in honor of Wedding Week. So. Much. Fun.

On The Everygirl

Today is a favorite for me over on The Everygirl - there's a feature about one of my all-time favorite bloggers, Kendi, and a blogwatch that I did is also posted, starring Jane of Jane Reaction!

Kendi is an awesome inspiration for me with fashion and truth be told, I've had a bit of a girl crush on her for awhile now, as evidenced by this blog post I wrote back in 2010. These days, Kendi's living out her dream and running a little boutique shop in Texas. I just googled the location and realized I was a mere 20 minutes from it when we were visiting Dallas a couple weeks ago, and I'm officially bummed that I didn't realize it and take a little trip to check out her shop and meet her. Regardless, if you're looking for a little inspiration, it's definitely worth it to read Kendi's interview on The Everygirl today!

On The Everygirl

The Everygirl feature that I assisted on is today's posted feature!

Several weeks ago, I had the pleasure of tagging along with Danielle to Sam Saifer-Berngard's stunning condo for her feature photoshoot, and it was a blast. I loved seeing Danielle in action with her camera, considering I barely know how to take mine off of auto mode and every photo she takes is incredible. Sam and I hit it off right away when we learned that we shared a wedding date, and it was fun to reminisce about waking up to rain on our big day and being greeted with perfect temperatures and sunshine by the time our ceremonies rolled around. Now that her feature is up, I had the chance to read more about her this morning and I am nothing short of impressed. This girl is IMPRESSIVE. I absolutely cannot believe everything Sam has done in her career so far, and I have no doubts that there is much more to come from her in the future. I love her overall outlook on success - illustrated beautifully here by The Everygirl -

It's perfect inspiration for a Monday!

Beginnings

The first piece I worked on for The Everygirl is posted today! It's a "blogwatch" on Siubhan of Simple Village Girl, a site I found my very favorite way - just clicking around from one blog to another and seeing what other girls are reading. Although I didn't have to do a whole lot of actual writing for the blogwatch, I'm excited that something I worked on is live on the site and looks amazing (thanks to Siubhan's gorgeous photography). In other news, I bought these adorable super-cheap leopard print flats at Target last night, and I am in love. Look at me go, being all girly and buying cute shoes.

I also bought a 2-pack of wooden Dwell Studio place mats for $3 on clearance that I promptly dropped directly on my foot leaving an instant bruise. Good thing I now have fun new patterned flats to distract from the black and blue mark I'll likely be sporting for a solid week or so.

The Everygirl

Every feature is worth reading. Every image is stunning. According to Twitter there's an Everygirl reading from a cafe in Paris as I write this. It's incredible, and the excitement around it all is contagious. 

A HUGE congrats to my new friends Danielle and Alaina, who have worked tirelessly for the last six months on top of full time jobs to bring their dream to life with The Everygirl!

The Everygirl - 2.22.12

Well friends, it's a big week for this little blogger here. You see, there's this website launching tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure you're going to love it. And somehow, someway, the stars aligned and I landed an internship position with the fabulous duo behind the site... which means I get to be a part of it all!

Whether she is searching for her dream job or a new city to call home;
is saving up for a down payment or a trip to Europe;
is learning to cook or speak another language,
she wants a little guidance. She wants to be inspired.

She is The Everygirl.

This is for her.

Danielle of Breakfast at Toast and Alaina of Live Creating Yourself are the brains behind this beauty, and I could not be more excited and flattered that they've asked me to join in the fun. I'll be helping with the blog, among other things, so be sure to check it out! I for one plan to devour every single ounce of the site just as soon as it's live, and seeing as I got a sneak peek of it today I can assure you it is nothing short of amazing.

Look, I even had to get a headshot for it. Fan-cy-pants. In true to me form I look good and awkward, but at least I remembered to do my nails! Although, my blingy ring finger glitter sorta just looks like I forgot to paint that nail... oh well.
